Physicochemical Treatment

The Physicochemical Treatment plants are designed to manage liquid waste such as spent acid and alkaline solutions, industrial wastewater, chromic solutions and others.

Our centres in Cartagena and Palos offer this process.

Separation and recycling of non-hazardous waste

Befesa Gestión de Residuos Industriales provides specialised assistance to companies and public organisations in the areas of collection, transport and management of non-hazardous waste. Our services include from waste collection to the supply of containers and specialised equipment, to be installed at the clients’ sites, adapted to process the different kinds of non-hazardous waste.

The Ajalvir and the Alcalá de Guadaira centres specialise in these services.

Solidification and Stabilisation

The solidification and stabilisation units allow treatment of industrial waste such as sludge, muds, organic and non-organic solids, contaminated soils and others.

The stabilised waste is odourless and non-leachable, eliminating its contaminating properties.

The Nerva, Cartagena and Palos centres have this kind of installation.

Landfills for hazardous and non-hazardous waste

The Nerva and the Cartagena Centres operate secure landfills that offer safe disposal due to:

• Its appropriate geological location.
• Its sealing measures: natural and artificial.
• Control and treatment of effluents and leachate.
• A continuous monitoring program.

Waste Transfer and Pre-treatment Centres

Our Ajalvir, Paterna, La Puebla de Alfindén, Nerva and Alovera Centres can manage all types of collected hazardous waste in accordance to applicable regulations.

From the Transfer Centres and according to the type of waste and its analytical characteristics established by our analysis and control laboratories, the waste is sent to treatments centres for final disposal such as:

• Reuse.
• Recovery.
• Recycling.
• Solidification/Fixation.
• Physicochemical treatment.
• Thermal treatment.

Transport operator of Hazardous and Non-hazardous Waste

Befesa Gestión de Residuos Industriales offers collection and transport services for hazardous and non-hazardous waste and has the required resources to guarantee compliance with applicable regulation regarding waste transport.

We research and optimise the most appropriate route for waste transport.

Environment Quality and Management

The objective of Befesa Gestión de Residuos Industriales is to obtain Environment Quality and Management Certifications for all its centres. Currently our Centres in Nerva, Palos, Ajalvir and Cartagena have the ISO 9001 Certifications.

Also, the Nerva and Ajalvir Centres are two of only 286 companies in Spain recorded under the EMAS register (Environmental Management and Audit System).
