Chemical Cleaning

Chemical Cleaning is an Industrial Maintenance process to eliminate scaling and contaminants:

  • In closed circuits by circulating a cleaning fluid.
  • By submerging the equipment in cleaning fluid.

Why perform a Chemical Cleaning?

1)  Scaling on pipes considerably increases corrosion at the adherence points, damaging the pipes and in the event of pipes with thin walls, causing leaks. Chemical Cleaning eliminates scaling.

It increases the life of the equipment

2)  The heat transfer coefficient of the steel is between 15 and 400 times higher than the coefficient of the scales deposited during normal equipment operation, reducing its performance regarding heat exchange. Chemical cleaning eliminates scaling.

Improves the equipment?s performance

3)  The The loss of a pipe?s load is inversely proportional to the cube of the pipe?s diameter. Therefore, decreases in pipe diameters due to scale tanks reduce the flow and increase pressure loss, decreasing the performance of the equipment.

4)  ) In certain installations scaling can be dragged into highly sensitive equipment causing break-downs.

5)  During the dismantling of industrial installations, the pipes could be contaminated with chemical products, and before these go to the scrap yard they must be decontaminated.

6)  When industrial installations are completely assembled their circuits can be contaminated with earth, sand, oil stains, rusted parts, which must be eliminated to guarantee the correct functioning of the installations according to specifications.
